At Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation, our uniforms are traditional yet modern and have been designed with the local climate and the age of our students in mind.

It is compulsory for our students to wear a uniform and to follow the Uniform Policy. Please note that the uniform is the same for FS 1 and FS 2.

School hats and book bags and jumpers / cardigans (in the winter) are mandatory. Children need to have their DBF hat in order to play outside.

At Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation, students have the option of bringing their own lunch or signing up for our hot lunch services, provided by Leela’s Lunches.

The meal consists of a healthy mid-morning snack followed by a hot lunch, including an organic salad or fruit starter, and a balanced main course consisting of protein, carbohydrates and vegetables.

If you wish to bring a lunchbox to school please note that students will require a snack in the morning and lunch for the afternoon.

Since our school caters for young children, please ensure that all food is well prepared e.g. fruit is peeled and chopped if necessary, and sandwiches are cut into manageable sizes. Grapes must be cut in half.

Please ensure that cutlery is provided where needed and that all food and drink containers are child friendly i.e. the child can open and close them by themselves.

About Leela’s lunches

We are delighted to share that our multi award winning catering partner, Leela’s lunches, will continue to provide our children their freshly prepared, wholesome and balanced meals and snacks. Leela’s focuses on the following:

• Range of healthy breakfasts, lunches, sides, and snacks designed by Leela’s lunches in-house nutritionist and chefs.
• Nutrients remain intact as food is cooked at their HAACP certified kitchen only 5 minutes away from DBF to ensure maximum freshness of each meal.
• Portion sizes for the meals are as specified by the British Paediatrics Association.
• Food delivered in eco-friendly packaging.
• Please note that Leela’s lunches cater for allergies including dairy free, gluten free, bean free etc.

We at DBF believe that food and nutrition are an integral part of supporting children and helping them develop healthy habits for life. Our catering partner’s health philosophy strongly encourages this:

1. All foods are made fresh and from scratch. Fresh fruit and vegetables form the basis of every recipe, even where you cannot taste them. No shortcuts/ preservatives/ additives.
2. Wholegrains are prioritized to enhance the fibre content of each meal/ snack. The grains used are wholewheat, oat, spelt, amaranth and rice.
3. Sweet snacks are sweetened naturally with dates or whole fruit instead of sugar.
4. All foods that need organic/ hormone and antibiotic free/ free range certification (eg. Meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, leafy greens) are procured as such through vetted and trusted suppliers.

Our well-equipped Health Centre is staffed with a full-time nurse and a visiting doctor.

Located in the lobby area of DBF, opposite the reception, the centre provides quality medical care to our students and staff. It features a spacious waiting area, observation beds and medical equipment of the highest standards, including a nebulizer, glucometer, ENT diagnostic set, sphygmomanometer, oxygen cylinder and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Our health services align with the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority), Dubai Health Authority (DHA) School Health Guidelines, and DBF’s policies, ensuring that the health standards meet regulatory requirements. Health education conducted by the school nurse throughout the school year includes but is not limited to topics about healthy habits, healthier food choices, oral health and vision health, safety awareness such as road and car safety, sun safety and U.A. E’s immunization guidelines.
