All our teachers and staff are carefully selected and trained in all aspects of children's welfare and safeguarding to ensure your child or children will have an enjoyable learning experience in a safe environment.

Teachers take part in regular professional development programmes to be at the forefront of the latest educational methodology. They are also ably assisted by an equally enthusiastic administrative and support team, which is hired both locally and internationally. With this we will ensure stability and consistency, which are vital factors in teacher-pupil relationships and successful learning.

Aoife WhyteClass Teacher of FS2 Yellow and Stage Leader
Aoife graduated from St. Patrick’s College Dublin in 2007 with an honors degree in Human Development, Bioscience and Geography. In order to pursue her lifelong ambition to become a Primary Teacher Aoife left her native Ireland and moved to London. There, she obtained her PGCE (M) from St. Mary’s University College, Strawberry Hill. An experienced teacher, Aoife has taught numerous year groups over her 7 years teaching career. However, Aoife nurtured a real passion for the Early Years and has been teaching FS1 + FS2 for the past 4 years. Aoife is recognized for her professionalism, organizational skills, and rapport with both children and colleagues / adults alike.
Gemma Croysdale Class Teacher of FS1 Turquoise
Gemma is from a rural village in Cheshire and studied for her Bachelors of Science in Physical Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Keele in Staffordshire. After completing her degree Gemma relocated to Manchester to pursue a successful career in finance before moving to Dubai in 2008. After a short career break to have her first child, Gemma embarked on a new career path, joining a nursery in Umm Sequim initially as a Teaching Assistant and subsequently becoming a Teacher in 2010. Gemma played an influential role in gaining ISO accreditation for the Nursery where she initially taught.
Lynn Mclaren Class Teacher of FS1 Yellow & Stage Leader
Coming from the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Lynn graduated from the University of Aberdeen receiving a Bachelor of Education(hons) degree. After graduating Lynn worked in Glasgow before traveling to Asia and Australasia. Keen to continue her adventure, she then returned to the UK to work on the remote Shetland Islands. It wasn't long before Lynn decided to move to Dubai to take up her first international post. Working in various schools in Dubai and holding a variety of roles, Lynn has been responsible for supporting teams through 'Outstanding' inspections and accreditations, introducing new initiatives and working closely with parents to inspire and promote children a love for learning for all children.
CHERYL IMLAHClass Teacher of FS1 Purple
Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Cheryl has several years of teaching experience across the whole primary age range. Having gained a BA in Psychology in 2002, Cheryl began working with the Teacher Training Agency in London. She was then inspired to undertake a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, graduating from Edinburgh University in 2006. A classically trained singer, Cheryl joined DBF in 2014.
Natasha Tomkinson Class Teacher of FS2 Blue
Natasha graduated with a 2.1 BA (Hons) in Primary Education (Early Years specialisation) and began teaching in Wickham Church of England Primary School. It was her passion in working with children from a young age that led her to a career in teaching that she is so enthusiastic about. She immerses herself in school life taking on extra responsibilities such as key stage 1 maths club and supporting other staff to develop their ICT skills. Her desire for adventure and to share her creative approach to teaching led her to Dubai British Foundation. Natasha is a keen skier and enjoys all fitness related activities.
Carmen WilsonClass Teacher of FS2 Red
Carmen Wilson completed four years of teacher training at St Martin’s college in Lancaster in the UK in 1997. She worked for a few years in London teaching FS2 and Year 1 where she was involved in various initiatives and took a particular interest in EAL and SEN. She is excited to be joining the DBF Team this year and her aim is to instill a love of learning in every child.
Katie JordanClass Teacher of FS2 Orange
Katie joins DBF from a small community in Washington, USA. She attended Washington State University where she obtained her degree in Education and Special Needs Education. After teaching Kindergarten in America, she decided to embrace her curious nature and move abroad to teach Foundation 2 and then Year 2 at an International school in Sharjah. After a remarkable two years she decided to continue her teaching career in the UAE. She is thrilled to have joined the family-feel community of DBF where she will be teaching FS2 Blue. As a child, Katie was exposed to all types of musical genres which inspired a lifelong passion for music. She is very enthusiastic about using music as a tool to explore and celebrate differing cultural backgrounds and to promote rapid progress in children’s linguistic skills.
Rebecca DevlinClass Teacher of FS2 Turquoise and Social media and School communications leader
Rebecca Devlin is from the city of Belfast in the North of Ireland. She graduated from St Mary's University College in 2012 with a first class honours in Bachelor of Education degree with a specialism in Geography. Whilst at college she sought of every opportunity to teach and work abroad, completing an Erasmus course in the Netherlands and working with children in Camp America. Rebecca has experience of teaching Special Educational Needs and English as an additional Language. She has a strong passion for teaching and loves the fun and inquisitive nature of children! She is very enthusiastic about teaching through music and song. Rebecca's first ever teaching job took her to Qatar, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Last year, she taught in an outstanding school in her home country and now is very excited about teaching and living in Dubai.
Siobhan Deering Class Teacher of FS2 Purple
Siobhan studied for her BA in Geography and Social Sciences at the University of Galway, Ireland, in 2009. She continued her studies there to obtain a Masters in Gender, Development and Human Rights. In 2012 she successfully completed her PGCE at the University of Southampton. After working as a Supply Teacher for one year, she accepted a teaching position at an International School in Thailand. During her three years at the school, Siobhan taught Year 2 and Reception classes. She has a keen interest in art and crafts and was the Junior Art Club leader in her previous school for two years.
RACHAEL FOXClass Teacher of FS1 Green
Rachael is originally from Leicester, England. She attended Nottingham Trent University for four years, specialising in Early Years. After achieving a Bachelor of Education she taught both Year One and Foundation 2 in an inner city school in Leicester before relocating to Dubai. She is passionate about giving the youngest children the best possible start to their school education through engaging, memorable and practical experiences.
Deborah Jane Thomas Class Teacher of FS2 Blue
Deborah Thomas recently relocated to Dubai from the Netherlands and Joins us at DBF with a wealth of teaching experience. She obtained her PGCE from the University of Sunderland, and a Bsc Honours in Education from Open University. In her previous role Deborah was an Additional Needs Teacher at the British School in the Netherlands where she taught for the last thirteen years. She has a great deal of experience in supporting children with additional needs, and has taught children from the early year stages to year six. She is extremely passionate about giving children the best possible start, by planning effectively for their lifelong learning journey and supporting the development of all children to ensure they become confident independent thinkers, with high aspirations within their school environment and the wider world.
Tiffany Parent Class Teacher of FS1 Orange and Numeracy / science leader.
Tiffany Parrent comes from Auckland, New Zealand. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland in 2011. She worked for a few years in New Zealand as a Year 3 Class room Teacher at Mt Eden Normal and Primary School, but has also worked in several roles including a leadership role in mathematics and statistics and another role in professional development. She was also very much involved in the extra curricular activities at the school she worked such as supporting the Year 1 and 2 dance production by assisting with the organization of children and music for the event.
Alexandra Adams Class Teacher of FS2 Green and Literacy Leader
Alex’s teaching experience in foundation stage and KS1 spans 25 years and has been shaped and enhanced by her husband’s international career and the requirements of her children. She has had the good fortune to have lived and taught in the UK, Sweden and previously at Wellington international school in Dubai. Alex has relished the variances between countries, their cultures and their attitudes to children and learning and she has learnt the value of being flexible and adaptable in teaching. Both of Alex’s children now attend university one studying at the Humboldt in Berlin and the other at UCL London thus enabling her to enjoy being with her husband in Dubai. Her particular interest outside of teaching is art; painting and printing. For Alex teaching is most satisfying when she can bring creativity and imagination to the classroom and inspire, motivate and excite children to learn.

Specialist Teachers

HIND BLENKINSOPPArabic Teacher
Hind gained her BA degree and MA in English at the University of Bombay, followed by teacher training and qualified teaching at the General Directorate of Educational Training in Jordan. After further teaching studies in the UK, she joined the Kindergarten section at Al Warood Academy in Abu Dhabi. Fully bi-lingual, with sound Early Years’ methodology, Hind joined DBF from Taaleem’s Jumeira Baccalaureate School where she devised a suitable Arabic curriculum for Early Years students.
GRACE TREADWELLMusic Teacher
Grace achieved her Bachelor of Music Degree and PGDE qualification from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. She is an Associate and Licentiate of Trinity College, London and has performed with many ensembles in Ireland, Europe and America. Grace is an inspiring instrumental tutor, specialising in woodwind and piano, but with the ability to play a variety of instruments.
