Health Centre

Our well-equipped Health Centre is staffed with a full-time nurse and a visiting doctor. Located in the lobby area of DBF, opposite the Reception, the centre provides quality medical care to our students and staff. It features a spacious waiting area, observation beds and medical equipment of the highest standards, including a nebulizer, glucometer, ENT diagnostic set, sphygmomanometer and oxygen cylinder. Our health services are in line with the KHDA, the Dubai Health Authority School Health Guidelines and DBF’s policies, we also offer students health and hygiene tips, healthy food and nutrition suggestions, how to prevent and treat injuries, how to boost immunity and how to stay fit, healthy and how to keep safe.

RACHEL JEXSchool Nurse
Rachel is a fully qualified and registered General Nurse who trained at the Queen’s Medical Centre, UK. She gained extensive experience working at the Royal Brompton National Heart & Lung Hospital, London, and in various nursing positions in Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Jakarta and Dubai. Rachel takes an active role in health-promoting education and has established school fruit and vegetable gardens, promoted staff and student sponsored walks, co-led assemblies on various aspects of child safety, eating healthy packed lunches and stranger-danger, to name but a few. DR. HALA FADEL AKELSchool Doctor, MMBCH
Dr Hala is originally from Jordan but has been in Dubai for most of her life and lives here with her husband and children. She has 20 years’ experience as a Doctor in both the government and private sector. As part of her role, Dr. Hala has worked in many schools as a school doctor. She visits DBF weekly or upon request.
